Embracing Creativity in all its Forms

For the longest time, I’ve been on the treadmill constantly working, organising and peddling with the endless to do list which still hadn’t been completed. This left no room to breathe. It made me feel edgy in a bad way – Perfectionism + procrastination is a whole topic for itself which I will cover soon. I rarely allowed myself to pause, to just reflect, to feel my energy in my body, to just be. It was as if I had no time to let my creativity flow naturally.

Anxiety was sitting in my neck and shoulders, bursting to come out like a cuckoo’s clock not just at the full hour.

Unexpected stops and door closures made me realise that creativity is not something you can force.

It comes from a place of ease, like a river moving with the current rather than fighting against it. Whether it’s being in nature, running, dancing, or just being still, that’s when ideas spark and solutions emerge. For me creativity is also so much more than art or design. It’s about how we solve problems, initiate new directions, and let energy guide us toward new paths.

Accepting Multitude

Here’s an example of trying to create a neatness borne out of a rational desire.

For years, I felt tied to job titles. Each one seemed to put me in a box, limiting how I defined myself. I worked different jobs – many outside the creative field – because I grew up in another country and took the opportunities available. But there was always this little voice inside me that wanted to be more, to explore the full range of my passions.

Now, I’ve let go of that.

I’m not interested in sticking to one label anymore. I’m multi-passionate, and that’s something I’m proud of. Whether it’s brand design, admin support, or helping others align their purpose with their business, I’m here for it all. My energy has always been drawn to a variety of things – I wasn’t flaky, my Human Design profile shows me I’ve got these channels activated with its shadows and gifts. That’s what makes this next phase of my business so exciting.

The Pivot: Extending My Services

It’s true that I’m offering more than just brand design now. I’ve expanded my services to include admin support—things like updating website content, document prep + managing your digital calendar. You might think, “Wait, doesn’t that mean you’re diluting yourself?” Actually, no. If anything, it’s an extension of my creativity. I’ve always been thorough and detail-oriented, and many of my clients have appreciated that. Now, I’m simply adding more value to what I already offer.

Sure, I’ve thought about how the Virtual Assistant (VA) title might be perceived. People often associate VAs with just admin work, but in reality, it’s so much more. Working remotely in design was already a form of VA work, and I’ve seen others offer everything from web design with admin or to social media management, there’s even a painting decorating app under that same title.

So, if you’re wondering why I’ve made this shift, it’s because I want to be able to help in more ways. Whether it’s branding or keeping your day-to-day running smoothly, I’m here to support your vision.

Creativity is Everywhere

I used to be arrogant in thinking that because I work in the creative industry, only we are the real creatives.

It’s important to recognise that creativity isn’t limited to traditional artistic expression. Creativity lives in every solution we find, every project we initiate + every risk we take.

Especially kids, before school teaches them more to think inside the box, are constantly expressing their creativity in ways that us adults often forget.

I want to remind myself often to invite more play into my life, like children do + let go of forcing things.

“Creativity is putting your imagination to work. A big part of being creative is looking for new ways of doing things within whatever activity you're involved in.”

For me, this pivot isn’t a departure from my creative roots – it’s an expansion. It allows me to support businesses, especially those with a purpose, in ways that go beyond design.

Not Just a Label

If anything, my journey into creative work has reinforced what I’ve always believed: I’m not just one thing. I can be a multitude of things, and that’s okay. Titles are just that – titles. What matters is the work we do, the creativity we bring, and the impact we make.

So, here I am, embracing this next step. Offering both brand design and admin support. Why? Because I know it’s the right move for me and for the clients I work with. I’m here to help your brand grow, align with your purpose, and connect with the right audience – all while taking care of the details so you can focus on what matters most.
